A question from past a respondent:
"My beautiful Mum passed away nearly three years ago. How do I help my Dad move on and deal with his loss?"
Response:
"First, I am very sorry about your loss. I lost my mother a year and a half ago, so I understand about the grief process.
I sense that you are a very loving and caring person. You not only describe your mum as beautiful, you are concerned about helping your Dad deal with this loss?
One of the ways that you can help him is to ask what you can do that will help him. Being there for him can be very supportive and letting him know that you care about him and want to help him in any way you can.
Sometimes people can go through the grief process relatively quickly and some people need more time. Grief can be very different for different people. One of the factors, is what kind of the relationship he had with your mum. I do not know if what you father is going through is still the grief process or if he is stuck. He may just need more time or he may need to talk to someone professionally to help him.
If you or he would like to talk to me, I offer a complimentary 20 minute phone call.
Dee"
This is an example of the type of question you could ask.
